Butiama Cultural Tourism Enterprise launches new website, having redesigned the look and performance to better leverage its presence on the world wide web. BCTE expects the new site will gain global attention bringing a variety of tourist, local and foreign for cultural visits to Butiama.
The new site improves access for online visitors to BCTE’s current offers from its portfolio of cultural, wildlife, and historical attractions. The village of Butiama is the birthplace of Tanzania’s founding president, Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere (1922 – 1999). His mausoleum is located in Butiama.
A museum dedicated to his historical legacy is also located in Butiama. Butiama offers visitors a tour that is rich with cultural insights on the Zanaki ethnic group.
Since its inception in 2008 BCTE has been engaged in promoting visits to Butiama to both Tanzanians and foreigners. An average of 400 visitors visit Butiama’s attractions each month, with peak visitors registered in October.
With increased exposure provided by the launch of the new website, BCTE expects to double its visitor numbers in 2017. The website has an enquiry page that simplifies communication between users and BCTE.
